Varsity Football Scrimmage Cancelled
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Varsity football scrimmage at Upper Sandusky on Friday has been cancelled. See you all at Oak Harbor on August 24 for week 1.
1:1 CHROMEBOOK INITIATIVE
Fostoria City Schools is very excited to launch our 1:1 initiative this school year, meaning every student grades 5-12 will be issued a Chromebook laptop to use at school and at home. We will be launching this initiative over the course of three nights one week prior to the start of school. Please review the schedule below to find out when your student is scheduled to receive their Chromebook.
- Monday, August 27th @ 5:30 p.m. – Students in grades 10-12
- Tuesday, August 28th @ 5:30 p.m. – Students in grades 5-6
- Tuesday, August 28th @ 6:30 p.m. – Students in grades 7-8
- Wednesday, August 29th @ 5:30 p.m. – 9th grade (Freshmen Orientation)
*If you and your student are not able to attend your assigned evening due to schedule conflicts, you are permitted to attend one of the other scheduled times.
On the evenings listed above, all students and families will be required to attend a brief informational presentation regarding the 1:1 initiative and the use/care of Chromebooks. This presentation will be held in the PAC at Fostoria Junior-Senior High School and will begin at the start times included with the corresponding dates. After the presentation, the required paperwork for student computer use during the 2018-2019 school year can be completed by parents/guardians. Once this paperwork is completed, students will be permitted to receive their Chromebook.
An important reminder to all kindergarten, 7th and 12th-grade parents. Complete shot records are required before the first day of school. 7th-grade students are to have received both tDap and meningitis vaccines while ALL seniors will need a meningitis booster. Transportation Request Form
If they will not be riding, we will remove them from the route list. Should they need to be put back on the route, you can call the transportation office and we will put them back on a route. This helps us keep our ridership accurate to ensure we have a spot for all students who will be riding the bus.
Also, any alternate transportation requests must be submitted no later than July 1, 2018, in order to put the students on routes. (Click here for Alternate Transportation Request Form)
