Groundbreaking Ceremony - May 10, 2018

"As we look forward to the project and its ultimate completion we want to acknowledge and appreciate the history of our district and community that have brought us here today. When the project began back in 2015 the goal was to provide a learning environment that would allow our students to have the best opportunity to prepare for their future roles in the world. Today that is still the goal as the design of the classrooms and the entire building will provide the flexibility that will allow the students and staff to be project centered, collaborative, investigatory, and able to work outside of the parameters of the typical classroom. This project will be the first in the state to use the newest version of LEED, an environmentally friendly program, as well as GPON which is a state of the art technology system that will reduce the amount of wiring, and infrastructure needed to run our technology in the classrooms. The timeline for the project has the elementary addition and renovations being completed in time to open the 2019-2020 school year, with the new JSHS being complete by December of that same school year." Andrew Sprang, Superintendent

2018 Jr. High School Award Night

The Junior High Awards Night was a great evening for all involved. We had a wonderful time celebrating the exemplary efforts of our junior high students. Nearly 90 students were recognized for various awards. We presented the students with the Academic Booster Award for students who held a 3.0 GPA for the school year. We presented the prestigious Presidential Award. This award recognizes high academic standards, and a letter of gratitude for their achievement, written by President Donald Trump, was read by Mr. Tom Grine, retired principal of FJSHS and current school board member. This year we began a new award, the Citizenship Award, for students who did not have any tardiness or discipline referrals all year. We gave our attendance awards and the Archie Griffin Award to top athletes. The teachers presented awards to the students of their choice for outstanding work in their subject area. We appreciate the super support we received from the parents. Overall, a very good night!
