2016-06-06 - Board Minutes

The Fostoria Board of Education met for a work session meeting at 7:20 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Fostoria Junior/Senior High School.

The meeting was called to order by President Dr. Thomas Guernsey with the following members present: Mr. P. Grine, Mr. T. Grine, Ms. Stannard, Mr. Thompson, and Dr.Guernsey.

• Beginning in July, Board meetings will be held on the 2nd and 3rd Tuesdays of the month.

MOTION NO. 16-064 ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business Ms. Stannard moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:00 p.m.

Mr. Thompson seconded the motion and on roll call the vote was: Ms. Stannard, aye; Mr. Thompson, aye; Mr. P. Grine, aye; Mr. T. Grine, aye; and Dr. Guernsey, aye. The president declared the motion passed.

1 package of multi-colored construction paper

1 - 4 oz. Elmer’s Glue

8 Glue sticks

4 low odor Expo dry erase markers

1 box (16 or 24) CRAYOLA crayons

1 box CRAYOLA markers

1 - CRAYOLA watercolor paint sets

1 pair children's blunt point Fiskar brand scissors

2 Large box of tissues

2 boxes of baby wipes

BOYS ONLY - 1 SANDWICH size Ziploc bags

GIRLS ONLY - 1 QUART size Ziploc bags

1 Homework Folder

1 subject WIDE ruled spiral notebook

1 container Clorox or Lysol wipes

1 extra set of clothing (DOES NOT HAVE TO BE CAMPUS WEAR) which should include:

Socks, underwear, shirt, black sweatpants, black shorts, and pull ups if necessary

1 small blanket and small pillow (not standard sized)  

    (None needed for half-day AM/PM classes)

Additional items may be requested by the teacher

Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA)

Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards (birth to kindergarten entry) are the basis for the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA).  It has six components:

  • >Social Skills - including social and emotional development, and approaches toward learning
  • >Mathematics 
  • >Science 
  • >Social Studies 
  • >Language and Literacy 
  • >Physical Well-being and Motor Development
