The Fostoria Board of Education met for a regular meeting at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Fostoria Junior/Senior High School.

The meeting was called to order by President Dr. Thomas Guernsey with the following members present: Mr. P. Grine, Mr. T. Grine, Mrs. Kauffman, Ms. Stannard and Dr. Guernsey.

MOTION NO. 18-098 TREASURER RECOMMENDATIONS:
Ms. Stannard moved to approve the following Treasurer recommendations:

A. Approval of the minutes of the following Board of Education meetings:

(1) Work Session on June 15, 2018
(2) Regular meeting on June 15, 2018

B. Approval of the following Financial Statements for June 2018 as submitted:

(1) Cash Reconciliation
(2) All Checks Report
(3) FINSUM (Financial Summary)
(4) Year End Report on General Fund
(5) Year End Report on Other Major Funds

C. Approval authorizing the Treasurer to contract with Liberty Mutual Insurance for the district’s property, fleet, liability and violence insurance effective July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.

D. Approve the following District Support Organizations for the 2018-2019 school year:

(1) Fostoria Elementary PTO
(2) Redmen Music Club
(3) Class of 2021 Junior After Prom
(4) Redmen Club
(5) Fostoria Athletic Boosters
E. Motion to thank and accept, the donation of $35 towards fuel costs, from Thomas Schetter, on behalf of the Fostoria Community Band for the use of the district’s box van.

Ms. Stannard moved to approve the Amendment to Administrative Contract for Deborah Pirolli, Dean of Students as submitted.

Mr. T. Grine moved to approve paying a $50 monthly cell phone stipend to Mark Stratton for the 2018-2019 school year.

MOTION NO. 18-104 UNUSED VACATION PAY
Mr. T. Grine moved to approve David Hossler, Director of Operations/Transportation, to turn in for pay up to 10 FY18 unused vacation days.

MOTION NO. 18-105 RESIGNATION
Mrs. Kauffman moved to accept Mathew Swortchek’s resignation as Communications/Media teacher, FJSHS, effective 07/31/2018, pending employment as Instructional Technology Specialist.
