It is with great pleasure that I welcome you and your family to the 2017-2018 school year as a Junior High student at FJSHS. We have made big changes here to make sure your day goes well. The junior high will find their classes (except Science and Health) on the first floor of the building. We have been preparing for the opening of school and are excited to see you here.
Student success is our primary goal and we are working closely with the faculty to offer you an exciting year of achievement and learning!
Schedules are set! We follow board policy on schedule changes. Changes should be rare. Please be sure to have your copy of your schedule the first day of school. There is a process for requesting changes and a form to complete. These are available in the Counseling Office. Please follow your schedule you were given the first day, as we will not be taking requests for changes until we are sure everyone is in the classes they are assigned. Then stop by and pick up a form from Mrs. Ireland, and we will see if a schedule change is necessary based on the board policy guidelines. We also ask that you not share your locker combination. Mrs. Root spent a lot of time re setting the combinations and assigning new lockers. You are the only one who should know your combination. We also ask that you do not share lockers as they are pretty small!
The Counselors, Administrators, Faculty and Staff will be here to greet you and make sure your school year gets started off well. Please feel free to ask us for any information you may need to make your start go smoothly!
We welcome the new 7th graders and promise we will help you with your transition to Junior High. There will be students and faculty to greet you and help you with your lockers. We will also conduct several tours to make sure you know where everything is in our building!

I was born and raised in Fostoria and I currently am, and have been, a Fostoria resident my entire life. I am very proud of and committed to this community, and I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Fostoria City School District. I encourage all students and parents to reach out to me for academic issues, college and career planning questions, scholarship information and any personal, social, and/or emotional matters that may arise. My goal is to be a positive influence and a supportive service provider that will continue to develop and enhance the excellent educational opportunities that students are receiving at Fostoria City Schools. I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of you, parents and students alike, and I encourage you to communicate with me and reach out to me for anything that you need.
